If Elon Musk is to be compared to an old testament prophet I believe he would be most like the prophecies of Lamentation.Whilst is disputed as to who wrote the book of Lamentations, it is widely regarded as being Jerimiah, the weeping prophet.
Lamentations is a book of poems or songs which mourn the destruction of Jerusalem. It speaks of sins and acts of God, of hope for the people and of a better day, of prayer and recovery. The destruction of the earth through environmental mismanagement and the rebuilding of our world using renewable energies is similar to the message that Elon Musk is sending to corporations and to the people.
Lamentations also speaks of God's great love for his people and to never be without hope and the proper response to sin is to ask for forgiveness and God can use humans to execute his judgement. Destroying the earth can therefore be seen as a sin and Elon Musk is trying to rebuild it and this can be seen as hope.
I believe Lamentation passage 2:15 "Is this the city that was called the perfection of beauty, the joy of the whole earth?" is about humanity turning its back on God and turning to technologies that pollute our world such as cars, looking for comfort and being lazy instead of sustainable and renewable. I think this links Elon Musk to this particular passage of Lamentations. Through his work in Tesla motors and Solar City he is showing us we can have our technology, a beautiful world and be closer to God by providing people with options to help save the earth.
Similar sentiments are shown in Lamentations 1:8 "Jerusalem has sinned greatly and so has become unclean." I believe that this shows that the majority of people have shunned God and discarded his messages and our stewardship of the earth was lost. Mr Musk is trying to rebuild and save our earth by combating global warming.
Lamentations 3:40 -42 'Let us examine our ways and test them, and let us return to the Lord. Let us lift up our hearts and our hands to God in heaven, and say: “We have sinned and rebelled and you have not forgiven'. This passage represents people regretting their actions and going back to God. Elon Musk represents hope and working to overcome the problems environmental disaster for humans.
Lamentations 3:58-59 'You, Lord, took up my case; you redeemed my life. Lord, you have seen the wrong done to me. Uphold my cause' is about forgiveness and change, a new way and this represents Elon Musk as he is showing us that new ways are OK and presenting change as good and providing hope and bringing people along with him.
